    Hi!

I'm very very new at this so please use simple terminology.

I have a divX movie file and I would like to take only the audio track from it and turn it into an MP3 file in order to put it on my iPod.

    How do I do this?

Well .divx is just an extension of avi and I am not sure that it supports any audio other than mp3 so yeah, just use VirtualDubMod to demux the audio.

Divx and Xvid files can also contain [bold]AC3[/bold] audio streams.

Could have sworn that I read somewhere that .divx was only mp3 and an XviD file would be just raw video.

But yes you can use XviD or DivX with a variety of audio formats, such as aac, flac, AC3, vorbis, mp2, mp2, etc. That just comes down to the container that you use, the fact that the video is DivX or XviD really doesn't matter.
