    Hi!

I'm very very new at this, so please answer in simple terminology.

I have a divX video file, but I would like to extract the audio from it and put it in an MP3 file so I can hear it on my iPod.

    HOW DO I DO THIS???
    (Thanks!!!)

[bold]VirtualDub[/bold] will allow you to save the audio stream of an AVI file in Wave format. The catch is that the Wav file will be of whatever type the audio stream is. If the audio stream in a DivX file is AC3 the the .wav file will be a AC3-Wave file. If the audio stream in a Xvid file is Mp3 then the .wav file will be a Mp3-Wave file. Normally .wav files are PCM formatted.

After you have the Wave file use [bold]GSpot[/bold] to find out what type it is (if you don't already know) and I'll tell you exactly what you need to do from there.
