I have lots of VHS I converted to DVD (VOB) and are legal. I have tried #1 DVD ripper, AVS Video Converter, etc and ALL of them get errors of some kind.

What I am seeking is for someone to tell me how to:
Take a DVD (VOB) format, Rip it and then take out the BAD spots by Splitting, and then burn it back to CD or DVD for playing on a regular commerical DVD player.
Does anyone know the programs to use to accomplish this?

I have tried to rip it to AVI as there are some good AVI Splitters out there, but seems like there is NO standard for AVI as some play, some dont, some split, and some dont. It is really a nightmare.

There are few sotwares to do the trick
    Mpeg Video Wizard DVD
    TMPGEnc DVD Author
    VobBlanker-free
First two are good (around $100)and relatively easy to learn, last one is not so easy to use.
In Video Wizard, you can work with VOBs directly without reencoding,(cut, transitions, fades, create menu for DVD) it is really nice piece of work.
