I have some music that was ripped using itunes. I no longer have the cd and I am wanting to put the songs on my mp3 player but I can not because it is in the itunes format m4p or whatever it is.

I have a lot of other music that is like this also.

How do I convert these songs to the mp3 format.

I don't want to burn them to a cd and then back to my HD.

I have heard about a couple of programs, but don't know if they are legit or not or which one is better. ( Soundtaxi, Tunebite )

Which software or method do you suggest? Do you have a guide on how to use it?

    Thanks in advance

    Wayneswor,
Try burning your audio files onto a disc. Open WMP, Rip your songs, plug-in your MP3 device and then sync. I hope this helps.

simple...go to preferences, advanced, import. select mp3 from the drop down menu. exit the preferences menu. hi-lite the tracks you want converted to mp3, right-click, and select "convert selection to mp3." that's it!

if the songs are protected aac audio files, burn them to a cd, and then re-import them with iTunes as an mp3 or wave or whatever format is available in the same pull down menu i mentioned above. i hope this helps!

This is what I tried before trying anything else suggested and I believe it has worked on all of my songs in the aac and m4a formats. I am not completely thru going thru everything but this process it going to take care of just about everything if not everything.

    Thanks to everyone that responded.

this thread should be closed. i gave him the best way to convert his songs, which is within the iTunes interface. he's already said it's worked out, so no more suggestions are needed.

If you have the songs on your iPod, then you have the files on your iTunes no?

So, if that's the case, merely burn them to a CD.
