How hot is hot..cpu

    Yep the intel thermal sheet says that I can run the 2.8c as high as 75c with no problems. It will automatically begin to throttle down at 75c(reduce cycles) until it goes below the thermal barrier. That was intels new idea with the P4 it has two diodes. One for thermal protection and one for third party monitoring. I really don't worry about temps unless my machine started doing strange things. I also run with a 400mhz overclock @ 230 fsb x 14.

    i forgot to add that im using a Termaltake Volcano 9..and i have already lapped it..im also using a generic silicon thermal paste..ive seen my proc cool down to 23C on one rainy day..

    btw, im using the V9's "automatic" function..it spins up wen d proc gets hot..and silents itself wen d proc is more or less stable in temp..
