    Using two drives, 10 mins to rip two movies with Dycrypter, 15 mins to convert them both with DVD2One and 40 mins to burn them with RecordMax.

    DVD2One and anydvd don't get along with me so it takes 20 min to copy with anydvd 6-7 min for dvd2one(I use my 10k rpm harddrive as source, to a 7.2k rpm destination drive, does wonders) and 20-25 min burning with nero 6.3.0.2
    P4 HT 2.4 ghz, 512 MB ram, 10k rpm system drive, 7.2k rpm second drive, radeon 9600 256MB vid ram

    It seems those with bigger memory reserves burn faster. Added to that the burn rate of the writer has a lot to do with it. A tip I picked up here within this site mentions cpu useage. Those that have the wrong settings typically use more cpu useage than those that have it set correctly.

    I know that there is a lot of difference in speed between my computers in doing the same tasks. The oldest does not have a dvd reader/writer. Takes around 15 minutes to burn a cd. Those with the dvd writers take far less time. As they are newer with faster speed capabilities, I will assume that is the reason for the speed increase.

    What I have read in this thread, indicates I should buy more memory to see some speed increase in my rates. Thank you all.

    A big speed difference when using decryptor/smartripper/etc is that DMA must be turned on. In XP, my setting was turned on, then XP automatically reset it to off. I had to remove IDE controllers and reboot and let it set up again. Then make sure UltraDMA is enabled.

    When it's on I can get up to 13x and when it's off, less then 3x.

    Athlon Barton Core 2500+ 333fsb, OCed to 3200+
    1 gig PC 3200 400mhz DDR
    120 gig 7200 Maxtor HD
    XP Pro
    Pioneer 106D, with firmware update.
    Memorex Dvd-r 4x

    Decrypting = 16 min
    Dvd2Zone = 15 Min
    Nero = 14 Min
    Total time 45 min.

    I followed the steps outlined in the Dvd-r FAQs to burn my first dvd, which was a dvd-9 format about a diaty who gives his powers to a guy and comic hyjinks ensue. Worked like a charm. Im one for one.
