Been trying to rip HOFD since last night. Decrypter has been running for about 17hrs now? chkd taskmngr - it's actually running but damn! How long does this really take cause I'm beginning to think there's something else going on here. I've been tempted to shut it down several times but there's still actions being recorded in the log. Patience is a virtue????

I think you're going to kill your burner letting it read for 17 hrs straight! My burner ran for 1 hr while watching a DVD and the DVD was smoking hot. It doesn't look like it's encountering any read errors which usually has Decrypter retrying forever. On Task Manager, what's your CPU usage? RAM usage? Close your virus apps and anything else taking up resources.

This is just a shot in the dark here - but Fat32 does not like files over 4 gig. This movie is much larger. I am wondering if that MAY be causing you a problem. Again this is just a quess. If you used DVDD before with the same config on larger movies than this might not be it.

If the problem doesn't lie in the movie's encryption, your drive probably got stuck in PIO mode and you need to get it back to DMA. Bbmayo's got a guide on how to do this. Link's in the sig...

I think you're definitely right. I think it is the file size. Thanks folks. There was mention of just ripping the movie on that link squizzle provided. I'm going to check that out and see what happens.

i had a prob ripping HOFD at 1st using dvd43 and dvdshrink. I then used decrypter and dvd43 was still running I think, and it worked w/out a problem.

Don't look any further guys. Arniebear is absolutely right. The problem is the fat32.
