I doubt that you'll get this to work correctly since the size differences between CDs and DVDs are too large, and the sequence of swapping the CDs would be very complex, and different for every game.

Best advice is to save up for a cheap DVD-R burner...

sorry to bust your bubble trojanman, but i have to agree with us golf. i said you keep an eye out on bestbuy open item dvd burners, therefore youll get a good price. i think it makes sense when you put it like this. cd-rom games, get backed up by cd-r media, dvd games get backed up with dvd+r media. save yourself the migrane headaches and just get yourself a dvd writer.

What is the best software to make ps2 dvd backups? and do you use dvd+r or dvd-r's or does it matter?

Not true that v1-3 don't read +r media, I've got a PS2 v3 and I burn all my backups on DVD+R, works perfectly!

its a little different and more complicated. if you keep using your swipe card you are going to ruin you ps2. trust me i had a v4 and use to load games just like you are doing until the cdtray gave up on me, i suggest you purchase a fliptop along with swapmagic disk, and youll be fine to load cd, and dvd ps2 games. and youll save your ps2 buy these items anywhere you want except ps2cover.com, they are flooded with orders therefore their service is madddd sloooww

ok razor man 99% of v1-3 wont read +r media so its better to tell people that they wont read it rather than tell them they will then have them complain(after they went out and bought a +r only writer)you told them something that didnt work
perrcar if you have a read of this thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/15105 theres tutorials on how to backup games with various software and how to boot dvd backups with gameshark
