    Hi

I'm newbie. Can someone advice me how can I convert ac3 to mp3 in my DivX video?
This audio stream ac3 is 6 chanels and takes a lot of space in that Divx video and I would like to keep video but convert ac3 to mp3.

To simply convert the sound: BeSweet + BeSweet GUI (http://dspguru.doom9.net/). ... but you'll still have to insert it in your movie.
My suggestion is to uncompress the sound and encode it to MP3 as described in http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2divx_anamorphic.cfm (from the CDEx step. If you're skipping the DVD ripping part and you just need to modify an existing AVI, you can just load the movie directly, without the use of any frameserver and, since the AVI video has already been made, you can set Video___Direct Stream Copy in VirtualDub and skip the video steps of the guide (just do File__Save as AVI.. [F7] to save the new movie with MP3 sound).

Ah, I wrote a larger and more detailed explaination, because the problem was much more complicated, in http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/177717. Just avoid the 'sound decompression to WAV' , the 'add 0.5 s delay' and substitute WAV ---> AC3. Probably even in this case you must avoid CDEx and stick to BeSweet or HeadAC3he, if CDEx hasn't an AC3 decoder (again: I never used it...).

    headac3he or besweet.
mind that going to mp3 means you will lose the surround sound
