Do you guys know of software that can determine the compression type, and encoded type of a file.

I just aquired a avi file, which i thought was divx. Since its not playing in my divx/dvd player...i wanted to confirm if it was divx or not.

any help would be great, thanks.

yeah, i was able to play the file on the computer. I'm familiar with xvid, i was wondering why the DIVX/XVid player didnt pick up the file, and thats cause the file was in a different format - not divx or xvid. once i re encoded with divx - its money. Thanks.
