I'm very new to ths forum.
I have backup up several DVD using various software, using Nero 6 to burn the DVD's.
All the DVD's play on my stand alone DVD player.
The problem I'm now having is:- When I try to make a copy of a copy using Nero I keep getting a error message stating "unrecoverable read arror at location LB...". In some instanced the DVD will play on my PC but in some cases the DVD does not recognise the DVD.
I have seem in other threads where to locate the Nero log, wher I coud post on this forum, the location was giiven as C:/ program files/Nero/core/. The problem I have this does not exsist on my PC. I do have C;/ program files/ Ahead/
I look forward to your help.

Search your C(or other) drive for log files. You'll have to filter through quite a few but if they exist, you'll find them, unless you turned logging off. This might help filter the results of your search:

Using the search all files & folders (iclude hidden) Type in:

    *nero*.log or *nero*.txt

    If neither yield any results:

    *nero*

hi and welcome. i've teleported the thread to the correct (Nero) forum.

    as to the logfile..

..let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.

You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

Boyzone burning on the fly is risky theres a couple things you can do if your going to do it first use good media as in Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim(THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT) second DONT burn faster than twice your read speed ,so if your read speed is 12x dont burn faster than 6x .third dont run other programs while burning.

also you can use dvd decrypter to make copies of your backups, ISO read ISO write that actually is the best way. heres a guide to read and download software

    http://bbmayo.home.comcast.net/

make sure your running the lastest verison of nero also 6.6.0.18

    - firmware's up to date, but very old, ie Aug 2004!! - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=319 so the firmware is way out of date to cope with newer media..

    - i can't say that a 'Pnp680r' port rings any bells with me but i'll bet DMA needs to be ON for that CD burner, fix via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm

    - you're doing something wrong in the ripping stage, Nero's simply moaning that the files are not DVD-compliant

    - CDRALW2K.SYS is part of Roxio. try uninstalling Roxio (doesn't always play well with Nero), then you might need to fully remove using Roxio Zapper - http://www.microadvantage.net/utilities

There's no mention of your blank discs in this logfile, did you chop anything out ?

You have dvddecrypter set to file mode which is ok. You have file mode set to main movie which dont produce a dvd compliant set of files. Thats why you get that error. Open dvddecrypter and go to tools then settings and then clic the file mode tab and on start up select files change it to all. That will produce compliant set of files.

You can also select mode iso read to make an iso and then iso write to burn it in dvddecrypter. Or burn image to disk in nero to burn it.

Your help has really been useful,
I have looked at the firmware for my writer, and this is the only and last update. The media I'm using is "Datewrite" which I am led to believe is fairly decent media.
I have just made the adjustments recommended using dvd decrypter and I managed to copy a DVD, although it still failed on another, and yet plays on my stand alone player.
Could it be anything to do with the DVD ROM? CAn you clean these and how?
    Thanks for all your help.
