how to install a ps2 hd

    i got a western digital hard drive (wd200). when i turned on the ps2 it doesent show a hd icon on brows. i cheackd the compatable list and it says it works . do i need a ps2 hdd utility disk to make the hard drive work. if i do how can i get it.

    LOL western digital HDDs are famous for not working with PS2s. Try getting a Maxtor/Seagate HDD.

    i got a maxtor hard drive but it kinda old. will it still work?

    and do i need the utility disk to install the hard drive or can i just connect it and leave it like that

    What is it you'd like to do with the hard drive? On its own, the PS2 cannot do anything useful with the hard drive.

    Any 4-pin IDE HDD should work with the PS2.
    Though, if you have a 3rd party HDD (not the official one sony made for the PS2) you won't be able to much things with it. You need an exploit to make full use of it.
