I've got old MPG's movies which I'd like to merge them onto one huge file (actually they are splitted onto 10 or more files, due to disk capacity reasons)
and later burn them onto a DVD-video.

Any idea how to merge them? Is it necessary to convert them all onto AVI's first, and then use Virtualdub?

    Thnx Jim...

That new created MPG file has to be then fed onto TMPGEncoder so as to be converted in a MPG-2 format?

Yes but that "huge" mpeg will never fit on one disc(you only have 4.37gb on a single layered dvdr),especially in the mpeg2 format. You could do it as a mpeg1(vcd)but your picture quality will suffer.

Oh... but I'm joining small sized MPG's. Every MPG file is around 20 Mb or so.

ok,that should work then. After youve converted them into mpeg2's then you need a dvd authoring program, such and TMPGEnc Dvd Author,Dvdlab, nero visionexpress etc.
If you want to save yourself some steps, use nero vision express to convert your mpegs to vobs and then burn with one step.
