How to know your if v4 ps2 is gap or no gap

    How do you if has gap or no gap? Is there a way to tell without opening your system?

    as far as i know there's no way to tell without taking your ps2 apart and having a look at the chip

    You have to take it apart.

    Take out the rubber feet on bottom of the ps2 take out the screws then take the lid off.

    No take out the 2 screws on the controller ports and the two by the fan and power. turn the board over and take off the metal caging by unscrewing the 8? tiny screws then you will see the motherboard.

    Look on the net for a pic of the biso and compare with yours.

    If it is gap the bios will have a gap between the legs if not then it no-gap.

    whats the difference anyways between a no gap and gap (i guess some modchips have different versions for each v4)

    The only difference is that the modchip wires are in different places on the bios.

    Most modchips for v4 are for both gap and no-gap so it doesnt really matter.
