i m having mkv files movies i want to make dvd of it without any change in movies quality.
As per my knowledge mkv files cant play on normal dvd players, can you tell me the entire procedure for conversion of files so that it can be play on normal dvd players. Also can you tell me best and free burning software to burn, so that video and audio of movies should be in synchronized form.

    thank you

The video would have to be re-encoded to be authored as DVD's - which implies that the quality will change.
    I would use AVStoDVD.
It includes ImgBurn to optionally burn the disk.

If the standalone player could play DivX files and the contents of the MKV met the requirements (maximum resolution of the video was 720x576 and used the XviD codec and the audio was AC3 stereo or MP3) then it's feasible to quickly convert the format to AVI without a quality hit - but if those requirements weren't met, then they have to be re-encoded anyway.
