    kuroneco,

not sure if u have a flip top, but by lid im guessing you do, but i dont think they make a flip top for versions with 6 screws. if u r using the tool, i have heard it can cause many problems, may want to invest in a flip top cover. let me know more details. soory could not be more help.

thanks,i'm using swap magic with magic switch.
the tools are fine.using them wont cause any problem.you just can
not close the lid,but it's uncomfortable.so,some people using tape
instead one of the tools.it has to open the pstwo,i just wonder
    how to open it.slim ps2 has 6 screws,although i removed them,
    it's still close tightly.
by the way, there has a flip top for pstwo.
    thanks for reply.

they have flip tops for the pstwo. I have installed 3 of them and they work great. Very easy. The only hard part is the spring to the eject mechanism. Pay attention when you are taking it apart and it goes well. The flip top is great because you can use dvdloader if you need to on some games. The case snaps together & has screws. Removing the case requires that you move the case around any switches or you may hear the sound of broken plastic. Just be gentle and it is easy.

"Carefully seperate and remove the PSTwo top cover from
the bottom shell lifting from the back-left corner forward. If
you hear a slight 'snap' around the back-right corner this is
common, however, be sure to exercise proper judgement so
you do not crack your case."
i found that somewhere else.it said lifting from the back-right corner forward.that's mean i have to Remove the Warranty Sticker from
my pstwo?is there no other ways?
    look this:http://www.jspot.net/ps2.htm
he just opened the front half only.in my case,i tried be gentle but
the case wont open.Lifting the cover from the left hand is fine, but
the right side is problem, last time i broke something that connects to the reset botton.

it will open fine and still keep the warranty sticker in place. you just need to gently prise it open. the tab on the back-right is the one most people have trouble with.
use gentle force and it will come away without anything snapping.

also if you do need to return the ps2 i really dont think they will pick up on the fact that one of the tabs is broken as long as your warranty sticker is in place still.

Ive returend ps1 and ps2's in some totally messed up states and still recieved a new replacement with no troubles :p

plus the warranty is 90 days and you pay shipping. Not much of a warranty. You're not likely to damage the ps2 by removing the cover.

thanks all of you guys,i think what should ido is give it one more
try and be more careful and use "gentle" force.
    cause i already did a replacement such sa pro`noob said,so i'm not
    plan to do it twice.
does anyone know how to remove the part a which belongs to magic
    switch?or it's impossible?
