how to put music on ipod

    hello i am having a hard time putting music on my ipod.i am not sure what to do.the ipod was given to me but no manual or nothing.all my songs are in my external hard drive and i dont know how to put it on my ipod.can someone help me..thanks

    Well what kind of ipod do you have, do you have the usb cable to connect to the computer and do you have iTunes

    You have to download iTunes from here:
    http://apple.com/download/

    Then, import all your files into iTunes by going to File => Add Folder to Library. Then select the folder with the songs in your external hard drive.

    Now that the songs are in iTunes, you have to sync them with your iPod. I'm assuming your iPod is out of date, so if it asks you to update when you plug it in then do so. If not, then don't worry about it. It also will ask you if you want to erase and sync the songs. Click 'Erase and Sync' to get all the songs from your iTunes onto the iPod.
