Hi, I have NEC 1100 DVD+RW 2.4x writer. Philips DVD+R price seems reasonable at BestBuy. How is quality? Would you share your experience?

I bought several Philips discs at Staples and they all worked fine (both DVD+R and DVD+RW). I think, though, that Philips is like Memorex in that they use lots of different manufacturers, then slap their name on the disc. So sometimes you'll get lucky and sometimes you won't.

I have used a lot of Philips and never had a problem with them. I think the 2.4x are being discontinued and are priced really reasonably right now. Unfortunately I can't find any in my area. Some of the discs come up as CMC and others as Ricoh (more CMC than Ricoh though). Discs from over a year ago still play back without a problem. I also use the NEC1100 and they work great on that burner as well.
