I have been burning for awhile now with HP dvd+r 16x blank dvds i have had no problems with this media. All blank dvds burn great. Also At my local Big Lots They are only 15.00 for a 50 Pack cant beat that.

Best Burning results for me are:

Use Anydvd To Take off copy protection

Then use Nerorecode To Recode Entire Dvd

Then burn with the hp dvds

I have had no problems doing burning with there dvds if you have any comments please post.Do you think Hp Media is good media?

my knowledge about HP media is limited, however the quality of disks that HP uses is not very stable in the long run. I've heard of issues with HP dvd's not playing after 1-2 years because the or the degradation in the recording layer.

I personally use Verbatim dvd's that are available in BB (if you are in the US) for 12.99 on sale. However the best media of all with excellent stability and performance would be Taiyo Yuden.

The HP ought to be fine, particularly if you have had success playing them. If the recordings are of reasonably good quality--PIE errors below 50 on average--the discs ought to last at least 20 years with reasonable care. If the recordings are poor quality initially, then the lifetime will be shorter.

JoeRyan, I'm not really sure that is correct. If the data is good bad or indifferent, surely the longevity would be the same given the fact they are recorded to good media. Would you agree?

Everything Seems To Be fine with my movies.I mean they are always in perfect quality i have never had anyskip , and i think nero recode is the best out there, when using anydvd. Any problems or any thing i should do diffrent.I`m Still kinda new at burning movies. I also herd that since my dvds are 16x i should burn at 8x is that true?and why? Any suggestions are welcome. Also The Fuji Media, Dvd+r 16x Suck I have always burned with those and almost everyone was a dud like 3/5 would be bad disks. Also I Know this may be a little off subject but what store sells khypermedia DVDS and CDR`s

No truth to that at all. HP media is VERY stable. However, you would have better results with the -Rs than the +Rs. Most people have found the -Rs to burn much better.

I Really dont know the diffrence between -r and +r i was told by a family member that dvd +r are more compatible in dvd players than -r besides that i dont know the diffrence. What is the diffrence?also Hp dvds are far better than Fuji dvds i know that for a fact. I guss fuji is just maybe made cheep or something. Also today i just bought at my local circut cit 123 Copy Dvd so far it seems Pretty Cool. Also For some wired reason it will back up Movies with out anydvd, yet again i havent made 1 full backup yet.

Onya: Everything's thawed out here. Just your typical ohio spring weather, lows in the 20's and 5 hrs later-60's-70's

Stan789: Plus and dash are dvd formats, just like dvd-rom. Stand alone players are what's going to tell you which format they prefer or you'll get a no disc/dity disc/wrong region/wrong format/or illegal disc messages after inserting a backup disc in them.

Booktyping drives are a huge asset for the dreaded no disc error. The set the plus format media to dvd-rom,fooling stand alone players into thinking they are dvd-rom format, just like the original dvds.

Deciding on a format: If you have a booktyping capable drive: Benq/Liteon/LG/Plextor/some sony/some NEC-definitely use the plus format and booktype them for superior compatability.

If no booktyping capable drive, then the dash format usually fares better.Again,it's the stand alone players that you will play your backups in that decide which format, either format,or even none. They can even decide which backups to play from certain burners.

All HP media since 8x has been CMC-only:

8x -R: CMC MAG AE1 - Good media under good brands
8x +R: CMC MAG E01 - Good media under good brands
16x -R: CMC MAG AM3 - OK media under good brands
16x +R: CMC MAG M01 - Poor media, best to avoid
