HP CDWRITER 9100 SERIES

    HI SHOEY,

    I AM FACED WITH A NEW PBLM LATELY.MY HO WRITER 9100 SERIES IS BEHAVING STRANGELY.
    I STARTED GETTING POWER CALIBRATION NOW.
    I WAS FACED WITH SIMILAR PBLM BEFORE WITH MY BENQ WRITER.THIS HP WRITER WAS WORKING FINE FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS.

    I THINK I HAVE SOME PBLM WITH MY SYSTEM.I INSTALLED THE LATEST ASPI LAYERS(4.71).
    I GET SOME STRANGE NOISE FROM THE DRIVE.

    THE DRIVE TRA GETS STUCK SOMETIMES.

    I CANNOT BURN A CD PROPERLY.

    I USE NERO 5.5.10.15.

    BURN AT ONCE DOESN'T SUPPORT MY DRIVE.

    PLS HELP ME.AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

    Right click My Computer>properties>hardware>device manager>click the + beside dvd\cd-rom drives. Do you see any "yellow icons? With your mouse point on HP 9100= double click. Look in the General tab folder to see if this device is working properly. If it is have you tried to burn to a cdrw?

    HP.... that brings up the name Phillips for some reason.... and Phillips combined with Power Calibration error brings up graveyards for some reason.

    Um buddy if you are getting power calibration errors, it might actually be that your burner is on its way out. Try burning and erasing some RW discs. If that doesnt work.....

    HP cd burners are made by Sony so if you are still having troubles maybe your last option would be to flash your HP with current (or updated) firmware m8.

    Ya i know its just that i have had very bad experience with HP burners lol... almost as bad as LG/Phillips even.

    Dear Shoey,

    I can't burn a cd on my hp writer 9100.

    after burning 2 cd's i get either reset error or power calibration error.

    i tried in WIN XP.but the aspi layers are corrupted.

    i installed the latest ASPI layers(4.71).But it says wowset.exe is missing.

    I received the following error message from NERO 5.5.10.15.

    I concur m8. Consider a Asus(52x), LiteOn(52x), Plextor Premuim cd burner or the Plextor PX-708A DVD-Burner as a replacement.
