I had some extra bucks so I bought a HP dvd940e DVD Writer - USB. I use my trust worthy Plextor 716A - Internal never any problems. I thought that the new technology with USB 2.0 would have fixed the data rate speed issues with USB. At one time you could only get x4 with any USB DVD Writer regardless of the speed of the drive. Sent a email to HP with no response. BTW I did reach x9.1 with DVD Decrypter, the media was rated for x16 (Taiyo Yuden Silver Inkjet Printable 16X DVD-R)You would think I would get at least x12. I wonder did I waste my money?
