I can't get to my Recovery Console?

    I have a Recovery Partition on my hdd, But when i went to install Vista it messed it up and now everytime i boot it'll say "f10: Recovery console but eventhought i press it it wont go int the recovery console. I know how to use it cause i used it like 10 times but Vista messed it up in a failed attemt to install a trial version.

    How do i get into my recovery console?

    Try by pressing F8 when the computer boots up.

    When you pressed G* what did it do?? Did it bring up a system menu??
