You just rename it normally. I assume that your problem is that you can't see the whole filename, just the part before ".rar".

To fix that, in an explorer window, click the Tools menu, then Folder Options. In Folder Options, click the second tab at the top (called "view" I think). Scroll thouugh the options in the bottom half of that dialog. Find the option titled something like "Hide extensions for known file types". Untick that option. Click OK/Close. The entire filename will now be visible to you.

Ok I've come across yet another road block preventing me from obtaining my daily doesage of virtual alleviation.Okay enough joking for now, these are the files that are causing me alot of trouble; .r00 - .r64, .mdf, .mds, .svf, and some winrar archives. When I open the winrar archives, i get a folder opening the same files, and a 3GB+ .mdf and a 30MB .mds file. Can soneone please Help me? Thank you in advance. I've also tried rejoing, but that doesn't work either.

The sfv is for integrity verifivation.

The .mdf/.mds are a disk image. Burn that to a disk, you can use DVD Decrypter.

You can't fix it, unless you have money (obviously not). You need a new TV (or a dodgy converter box).

I see, but i rented a north american version of Need for Speed Most Wanted, and it worked fine. Yet the downloaded version did not. Are you sure it's my television, or the game?

If the game is NTSC, then the TV needs to be able to display NTSC. If the game is PAL, then the TV needs to be able to display PAL.

I don't know, but I doubt that it will blow up your house, so try it.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this or think it is worth it....

only if whoever compressed them compressed them with "old school" naming will they be .r001...etc if they didn't choose this option they will be ".part1,2,3,4..." etc you should probably put that in somewhere.

Hey i got a question. Since i uncompress the files and got a ISO file out of it then what's the next step i do to make it work on my ps2? do i just burn it to the dvd disc using dvd decrypter or do i have to use dvd decrypter to "READ" it in order to make the MDS file then burn the MDS file to the dvd disc? or is there something else i need to do before using dvd decrypter?
