I just received my V9 flip top, but it doesn't seem to fit properly! (it's noisey)

I just bought a fliptop for my PS2 V9 console and I followed the instructions and the flip top fits on top of the PS2 just fine, but when I put in a disc it gets VERY VERY loud.

If I press down HARD on the flip top lid it sounds fine and works properly.

I actually lost the case screws to the PS2, but it worked with that way with the original PS2 lid.

Did I get a defective flip top lid?

    Please help!

Well, I seem to have fixed it but I shouldn't of needed to do this.

What I did was loosen the screws that hold the piece containing the white disc (with the magnetic). This effectively lowered the tray and had the same effect as me pressing hard on the cover.

Everything seems to be working good so I'm happy, but I'm still curious if anybody else has had this problem...

Yes its quite common and others have had the same problem fitting a fliptop. I had the same problem on my V7.
