I have a Compaq Presario 2568cl Laptop. My internal TEAC DW224E drive (CD Reader / Burner / DVD reader) no longer works. I want to buy a good internal replacement that also burns DVDs. On another board, someone suggested that with laptops, they don't all fit. I called HP Parts and they could only identify a single expensive replacement drive and couldn't even tell me the brand name to that?

I directly asked what brands would fit, this is all they will tell me:

The part number for purchasing a CD drive for this model is 319422-001.
For purchasing the drive visit the following link:

I want to buy a new drive that is good AND FITS!

    Any help?

By the way, what happened to my old drive is that it no longer reads CDs or DVDs and the "in use" light justed flashes on and off.

    This is soo frustrating
