is the xbox on the primary ide channel master.if it is try to resaet it. take it out and put it back in.
yeh ive seen that pic, but i dont understand where that cord is going?? is it going strait to the mother board?? and then a seperate wire going to the cd-rom drive (in the pc) maybe it just keeps telling me they cant find anoher drive ?? so could you please give me a quick run down of where everythings plugged?
ohh i should mention that, if you are suppose to choose which load first in the bios.... i dont have the password for the bios so i cant get into that... is there an alternative way to change that if i need to?
Ok well this is how mine is... there 2 slots on the motherboard - both where taken - one for the pc's hardrive - one for the cd-rom so i took out both wires (IDE i think its called and one with a few colors i then plugged the IDE wire from the Pcs hardrive into the xboxs harddrive and then kept the other the same (in the pc's cd-rom drive)
i just unpluged the cable from the xbox and used the one i already had plugged in.so unplug the one connected to your xbox hdd and plug the one from your motherboard
yeh thats how mine is. so i guess its something else that is stopping the program from finding the hardrive? any idea? the only thing i can think of is if you are suppose to change the bios? because i cant get in there Sry please hang in there once i get it to recognise im sure it will be smooth sailing
id try swiching the cables around.take cd drive plug in other ide.then take harddrive and put in other one.
ok i just did that... i will give it a shot now..... -pressed 3 and comes up "you passed and underfined mode number". i waited 30 secs and it came up with the next bit. -to attempt ot unlock... - to attempt to lock .... i type "unlockhd -a" then says looking for CD-ROM in /dev/hda looking for CD-ROM in /dev/hdb looking for CD-rom in /dev/hdc No drive found on primary master! shutdown, attach drive and try again.... ??
no the power connector isnt i guess.... should i put in the power connector from the pc? it doesnt look like it is in the pic
i guess so it didnt say it didnt, but now it dont find the cd-rom it says... but how could that be... if im running the program off the cd? so should i plug the power cord in from the pc
oh ok, well i will plug it in now and try... and it worked! came up with serial numbers and stuff sorry that it was a stupid mistake! but i very much appreciate your help! ALOT! hopefully it will be all good from now on i will let you know how it goes any way thanks again
