I use ConvertXtoDVD, and after i convert the movie, as usual, a message pops up saying please insert a writable media disc in the selected drive. I do so, and it wont pick up that i inserted the disc. And there are no scratches on the disc, or anything wrong with the disc, un less its just a crappy brand.

    I am using Magnavox DVD-R 1-16x speed.
My DVD Drive is a Matshita DVD-RAM LF-D521 A116, thats what it says in ConvertXtoDVD, but on the outside of the drive, it says panasonic DVD multi recorder.

    Someone please help me.

Try using different discs. The Matshita (Matshita is part of Panasonic) has the latest firmware but it hasn't been updated since 2004.
So newer media like 16x may be hit or miss on it.

Look for 8x media for this drive like Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell.

I'll try that, and thank you so much.
