I just sold my xbox 360 to a kid on craigslist. i told him not to take it on xbox live. But he did and now it wont read any more backups after the last update. i suspect the update removes the modding. can any one confirm this?

His problem now. He probably updated it which flashes it to stock FW.

Just like me, I did that before. Without considering the content of the hardware, i installed online downloads XBOX live. Then it went banrupt.
Later my friend gave me his xbox 360 hardware. Its working good. Ive found a same one on geartaker.com, wondering if it is worth the payment. plus, the price is reasonable.

exactly, it's the kids problem NOT yours, he didn't listen to you, so now you don't even have a moral obligation to help him. laugh in his face, tell him to fix it, or charge him to fix it.
