I want to play music off a flash drive

    if i format my flash drive my computer says there is no room to in stall music.if I format the drive the xbox will not recognize it,and want to format it.all i want to do is play some music off a flash drive is there anything I can do,or what am i doing wrong

    are you formating as FAT32?

    You don't have to format the flash drive in the 360 to play music, that's just for games, gamesaves, etc. and is not really useable on your pc.

    just remove the storage from the xbox menu, then just drag and drop mp3 files from your pc as usual.

    if you also want to use the drive as "360 storage" choose customize when you format it in the xbox menu it will give you an option to choose how much of the drive you want the 360 to use.
