Like the sensor mods caused them too. My old PS2 is on its ass and is struggling like hell now. Any reviews up for the PS2Lid yet?

Be carefull... there is some DATA CODE 4C that came out with the laser problems, it might be yours... they had problems even playing original games.
    Good Luck.

What? It's a PAL console I bought on release. Not sure if this makes a difference to the lazer thing.

the first set of psTwo's that were released have a common fault with the laser. It will prob burn out pretty soon. If you have not voided the warranty you should take it back and get it replaced with a newer one. Sony themselves have admitted that this is true check their website for proof. If your retailer wil not replace it you can contact sony directly and if you have proof of purchase and an intact warranty seal they will replace it.

nope sorry. you dont need to send a warranty away. if you have the sticker intact and a proof of purchase you should be able to get it replaced. go to a sony centre.

    and ps

of the 200,000 units first shipped over half have been returned.
