i'm looking for a good DVD/CD burner?

    depends on how much you want to pay and how handy you are.

    eg, pioneer 108 internal can be had for say $50, and a 5 1/4 usb enclosure for $25 = $75
    pioneer 108 external in usb case could be up to $200
    (these prices are only examples)
    However, what you save by doing it your self, you pay for in lack of tech support etc. They are essentially the same drive with a ide-usb adaptor and a 240v-12v power brick instead of straight ide cable/power cable
    Personally id do it my self and have had no problems with the sony drive in my sig
    Just make sure you flash firmware using ide cable, before installing to enclosure, most flashers cant use usb

    have spent a good couple of hours trying to get my belkin usb2 enclosure to use dma. argh i give up!

    Plextor 716 DVD is hands down one of the best drives available right now.
