Posting the programs your using would help.

Does it play on your pc? What brand of media are you using? Have you checked you players compatibility?

    Your post is very uninformative.

In order to assist, we would need to know:

    1. What program you are using to Rip
    2. What program you are using to Compress
    3. What program you are using to Burn
    4. What brand/model DVD burner you are using
    5. What are your system specs (e.g., RAM, Operating System, amount of harddisk space
    6. What brand of DVD media are you using
    7. What brand DVD player are you attempting to playback on.
    8. What format are you attempting to burn to - or +

If this information is provided, members may be albe to assist.

The first thing I would try is some good proven quality media. Taiyo Yuden is the best. Maxell, TDK, Verbatum datalife, and branded Ritek Ridata (I prefer +r) are good. Stay away from Memorex and retail store brand media eg: comp USA Staples. While any dvd will work ok for data backup, you need a good quality dvd with an even AZO dye layor for vidio reproduction.
