increasing the sound quality of a mp3

    is there anyway you can increase the sound quality of a mp3 and how or what programs? What im really tryin to ask is i have a mp3 and the guy is talking can you make his speech a little more crisp? oh yeah it is very low quality mp3 if that helps

    unfortunately you cannot increase the auduio quality of a file like an mp3 once it is compressed. you may be able to tweak it a little bit. use dBPowerAMP and decode it to a WAV file, then try a free audio editor like Krystal or Audacity, where you can use an equalizer to boost or decrease certain frequencies to improve the speech quality. But the bottom line is once the audio file is encoded at a low bitrate, there's no real way of restoring it to high quality.

    http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/ this tool will let you increase or decrease the volume level of your mp3 files or set them all to the same decibel level for play back etc
