I actually bought the R260 and the ink has a different number on it. The carts look the exact same so I am guessing the ink is a little different since the R260 is advertised as "Ultra Hi Def Photo Quality". I didnt want to risk ruining it so I took it back and bought the last R340 at any Staples in town.

cody5150- I believe it does ! I think all the R-200/300 seroes epsons take the same cartridges ! You may want to check Out ezinkjets.com . They sell ink cartridges for most epson printers and other brands as well .They also sell supplies toner ect... for laser printers. The also sell a CIS= Continous ink ssystem for most of the epson inkjet printers especially the R200/300 series which would be better if you print an awful lot ! If I remember right it's equivalent to 8 cartridges for each color & black - You'd go through 8 sets of cartridges to one refill of the Continous ink system tanks/bottles ( See their website) though the CIS Is somewhat expensive up front! MERITLINE.COM also sells cartridges for your epson made by RIDISC/Ritek- 36-Pack Generic Compatible Inkjet Cartridge Combo for Epson Stylus Photo R200/R300/RX500/RX600 Printers: Six of Each T048120~T048620 [6/123-151 + 6/123-271 + 6/123-272 + 6/123-154 + 6/123-274 + 6/123-156]
    Item code: 123-291-003

Your Price: $38.47 After 30% Off With Coupon Code: INK30POFF - They also have a 48 cartridhe pack (see their website) which both should be a good deal depending on shipping ! ezinkjets.com has free shipping on most items and often a percentage off anywhere from 45% to27% which is whatit is right now ! If you can wait on the 45% off sales with free shipping you can get you ink for almost nothing - I have done bussiness with them several times & only had one incident of them shipping my order late ! & I use their compatable cartridges /generics for my epson Cx7800 MFP with good results ! Right now though I think the Meritline.com sale may be a better deal for your printer as I said earlier depending pn shipping cost? Hope that this helps out or atleast gives you a little more data to crunch ! top help you make a decision ? Good luck cody5150 later buddy!

The R200/220 take the 048 series cartridges and the R260 takes the 078 series. They are not interchangable. I'm researching a CIS for my R260. I have one for my R220 that is excellent. The replacement ink carts for these printers is ridiculous and outragously priced. They should jusy GIVE the printers away, since they charge so much for the ink replacements.

But, the INK is the same. Dye based ink. Check out gigablockshop.com for quality ink for refilling. They are listed as ultra high quality due to the fact the newly designed cartridge is capable of smaller ink droplets than the previous models.
