Anyone know why I'm getting this error and/or if there is a way around it?

Are you using AnyDVD? Most of the time you have to decrypt the file before Shrink will be able to open it. In some cases you can rip with AnyDVD, AnyDVD and DVD Decrypter, DVDFab Decrypter, RipIt4Me. After the movie is ripped then Shrink should not have a problem opening the files.

Okay, tell me what programs that you have and what movie that you want to back up. If you want free programs I can point you in the right direction. Also tell me if you want movie only or if you want to include menu's. If you want movie only then the tasks are a little easier. If you want full movie with menu's then I can tell you the free programs to use that will give you a high quality backup.
