Sorry if this is a simple question but I'm a newbie to the iPhone.

It's only available on O2 in the UK for now right? So... If I am already a pay as you or contract customer of O2 with my existing phone could I buy the iPhone handset only and put my sim card in it?

Will it work? If not, why not?

 

You cant perform this operation due to the simple fact that all iPhone come preconfigured with a SIM card. Due to this, you only have to anternatives. You can either import your old phone number by contacting your o2 agent or you can hack the iphone as millions including me have done to take full advantage of it abilities. In all choices you make, dont hesitate to ask further questions. Good luck.
