Do you have Quicktime installed on your computer? If you do, uninstall it then install iTunes. If this doesn't work, what does the error message say exactly?

Quicktime is what iTunes uses to play all the media. iTunes is just the interface used to view and select the files.

Yea sure...there's SharePod, probably the most known. I've never used it personally but I hear it's decent.

LOL No worries, it's what I'm here for. ;-)

I'm not familiar with SharePod myself, as I haven't actually used it, but here's a few things I googled up that may be helpful.

Sharepod is complete executable program which you can carry with you and use on any windows machine. To use it you simply put the sharepod.exe onto your iPod and run it from there. You must have the iPod enabled as a hard drive. It uses the iPod library database to list all your music and then you can simply transfer what you want from your iPod.

A little more information can be found here:

Hope this helps, and sorry I can't help you with it a little more. ;-)

Put your iPod into disk mode by pressing and holding the Menu + Center buttons until the iPod logo appears them immediately press Play/Pause + Center buttons until it says "Ok to Disconnect". You have now put your iPod into disk mode. ;-)
