I recently bought an 8GB IPOD off of ebay. After connecting it to my WINDOWS XP CPU it turned my options "OPEN" and "Explore" to what looks to be JAPENESE. When I click on the foreign words it wont open my Hard drives. I ve done a complete restore on my system and it keeps coming back. I am completely STUMPED! any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

First off, take the iPod and hit the central and menu button for six or more seconds until the screen turns black. The, try plugging it again. If that doesnt work, download and install iTune in ENGLISH. Then plug the iPod and wait. Your itunes should recognize it. If it does, select the iPod and click update/reset to factory settings buttons. This WILL take care of your problem. If none of these work, contact me again, please.
