ipod not giving sound from right headphone?????

I have a ipod video and just now the sound will only come from the left ear. I tried three different pairs of headphones and I have the same problems. If I jiggel the peice that connects the ipod to headphones it will work or if I hold it or move it sometimes. Does anyone know what is going on or what I should do?
