Is a HD DVD player requred to play WMV HD movies

    If I have a file converted in WMV HD. can I play this in the regular dvd player and have it being shown in HD? Is a HD DVD player requred to play WMV HD movies?

    No you cant...even if you could you would reuire a HD Tv to display that type of image quality.

    WMV HD files were originally meant to play on PC's only and not on standalone players.

    The current crop of HD DVD players from Toshiba do not play WMV HD files. For video they can only play HD-DVD discs and regular DVD discs. I'm not too sure but I don't think the 360 add on does either. However, you can stream WMV HD files from your PC to the 360 using WMP 11.
