Is DVD Decrypter back?

Just downloaded a copy of DVD Decrypter version 3.5.5.0. Now I realise it stopped at 3.5.4.0, but this looks identical, has the new version number in its help section and has all the familiar details such as lightning uk etc. The web site link does nothing. Is this just someone trying to cash in on the name? Thanks.

I think its a fake. Development stopped at 3.5.4.0. My advice is to uninstall it asap esp. if its a torrent download and get the real one...

The download came from a rapidshare link on a forum and I have already uninstalled it. I just wanted to see if it was really a new version. Haven't used DVD Decrypter for a couple of years. I'm an anydvd person.

I think this is the original download

I usually play with these downloads on an old laptop just in case of viruses, but seems OK. It may just be the final version that someone has changed to read 3.5.5.0.

Holy shit..!! I downloaded it, scanned with AVG and it's clean. I don't know what to say, unless someone else coded the very last version (3.5.4.0) into 3.5.5.0. However, for some reason the size are extremely large comparing to the original DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0.

Looking at an old thread on another forum dated June 05 - I found somebody else asking about this. LUK said someone had just changed the version number.

Also the question was asked about file size and it seems when they are unpacked they are both the same...

It doesn't come as a surprise that this 3.5.5.0 version is trojaned. Stick with the original or with modern tools as others have mentioned.

I started this thread to ask about any further development of DVD Decrypter. As has been mentioned, it's best to stay with newer software such as DVDFab if you want free stuff.
