    Hi,

While trying to install YDL 5.0.2 on my PS3, i might have messed up the "/etc/inittab" and "/etc/kboot.conf" files.

When YDL is booting up to the GUI , I see a the YDL background, a blue progress bar and a mouse pointer... then the screen goes black, but the mouse arrow stays (at this point my keyboard and mouse are non-functional.

Again I think i might have messed up the "/etc/inittab" and "/etc/kboot.conf" files, Is there a way to reset these files to factory defaults without having to reformat the HDD and re-install YDL?

    Thanks a lot

Is it possible to boot to single user mode with the PS3 or just into a command session - maybe you could then edit the files using VI or NANO?

in my opinion you should scrap ydl and go with ubuntu, unless you have red hat experience.
more experimentation is going on with ubuntu and its more user friendly.
