    hi

i just got a messiah 2 clone from the net and i installed it myself, i rushed the job abit and when i switched it on again, the screen is still blank but theres power, but the cd rom drive only spins lightly, is it possible to blow something inside the ps2???? althought i rushed it i didnt short anything but when i took the ps2 apart again the 5v line and one of the other mod chip wire came off will this affect the ps2 itself?? wouldnt it only make the modchip not working but the ps2 still normal?

    thanks in advance
    phil

If your power lines came off, nothing's gunna work >< I suggest getting the flip top cover, it took me 10 minutes to install and i'm playing everygame under the sun, and even the internet ones =p.

U shoould make sure your 5v and ground wire are as thick and as short as is possible. If thats ok then u got a short somewhere. If u still have the problem, take off all your connections and check to see if u still have a ps2. If u do then I recommend:
    1) take your time and do it properly, we are dealing with a $200 machine here.
    2) use a solder paste to keep your connections better.
3)Use a solder cleaning solvent and clean up your PS2 board before install the chip (radio shack part#64-4345).
4)Be sure to use a 15watt solder iron as too much heat will cause damage to the PS2 ic.

I don't think u got major problem, provided u have a working chip that is.

wow! be carefull. Get a 15watt man. Too much heat can damage the ICs on the ps2 board. If your 5v and ground are short and thick, and if u have no short but still have that problem then take the chip out and check if u have a working machine.
