is my ps2 dead

    I have a green and red light, the disk spins but i have no picture and no sound.

    any ideas

    going to need a bit more information

    were you installing a chip

    what chip

    are all of the solders clean

    any bridges
    etc..

    your rgb cable might be broken. the red, yellow and green jacks that plug in your tv might dead. If there is the red and green light when you switch it on and the blue eject ligh,. it might mean that the rgb cable is broken. no big deal. there about 15 bucks. not very hard to find.

    just as c7015 says. we need more info did you install a chip or not.
    if you did we need the indo on the chip

    I installed the magic 3.5 ver 7 chip it did no work, after installing the chip i had the problem, and when i removed it i still have the problem. i have checked all joints and they seem ok i was thinking of puttig the chip back in, could i have damaged my bios chip.

    p.s how much is a new motherboard
