I was just wondering if this is a good burner. It says it writes DVD-R at 16x and is dual layer.

Could someone please explain this dual layer thing to me? It can't actually copy a DVD9 movie completely without any conversion to one DVD-R disc(or special dual layer DVD-R disc) can it?

    Thanks alot,
    Joey

A dual layer burner can burn either DVD5 or to DVD9 (dual layer)discs. Yes, you burn to a DVD9 with no compression as long as it's under 8.5 gigs.

Pioneer makes good burners, also Plextor is coming out with a DL burner, LiteOn has one out too. All are good brands, tho I prefer Plextor the best...:>)
