When I travel with my iBook and I want to play movies. 700MHz and 640MB of RAM.
Should I rip to my hard drive or play from the DVD player?

I'm asking this from a battery standpoint. Any other power suggestions for this?

    Thanks,
    Gary

Running it off of you hard drive definately conserves energy, because there is no running motor.

Might the hard drive spin down so the only spindle going is the CD drive? (Still only one one motor spinning)

    Thanks,
    Gary
