I have 13 USB ports and I have things plugged into 9 of them, including a nice little fan on a stalk that blows cool air right in my face, and also blows the ash in my eyes everytime I smoke.
Anyway, is there a limit as to how many USB ports you can actually have?
Could I end up with such a drain on the system that it starts causing problems?

you can have as many USB ports as you want but when it comes to running the Peripherals of them all at once is another question. You can have as many things running form them that your power supply can handle.
