I have a V15 slim ps2 model SCPH-77001. I don't want to mod my slim ps2. I have a action replay max for my slim ps2. I read some topics on how to do this, but is it safe for the lens? I read somewhere that playing burned games on your slim ps2 can damage the lens and shorten your ps2 lifespan. Is there a safe way to play backups without modchips, without damaging the lens? Thanks alot to all in advance!

if you want to avoid the lens, you will need hdadvanced. it boots games from an external harddrive, but the game speed is slower than the game disc.

if you use crappy media, then it will strain the lens. use only high quality media, like verbatim.
