if you could boot a copied version of swap magic, you could just boot a copied game.

Wow how many times has this question been asked in the past week? The Swap Magic discs have missing tracks on them to trick the PS2s thought processes to allow a back up game to be played. Therefore, unless you can create those missing tracks on your Blank CD.

NO, quit asking, its not possible. Swap magic, just like original ps2 games, is pressed with bad sectors. the ps2 looks for these bad sectors, and your burner cannot reproduce them.

There is NO WAY to copy the Swap Magic Discs 100% the same way as the original. Why? because the disc is MISSING TRACKS IN IT'S DATA BANKS. Probably not the most correct terminology, but that's the way it is. So like i said, unless you can duplicate these missing segments, your "copy" will NOT work, ever.....in a million years. Even if the PS2 fairy's blessed it with their magical fairy dust. End of Discussion, topic closed!

yes but there are some medias that if you burn a backup a PS2 game it will reproduce.....The laser reads them as a original.

Raiten - your not a f'n mod.....and your not cool for saying topic closed either....So give it a rest and shut your mouth if you cant kindly say no.

dont be cheap man just shell out the 40 bucks and buy the damn disk. From what I know you can never reproduce a SMD because they are pressed not burned. They have some dvd code when they are pressed, or something to that effect. Still I find it strange that you can find copies of SMD on the net and you cant make burned copies of this.

Yeah.. lol any1 here have a cd copying press???

Another way of using copied SM discs is to boot them from an original SM disc, adding an extra swap, and defeating the purpose lol

STOP SAYING THERE HAS GOTTA BE A WAY!!!

Even if you added "bad sectors" which so far hasn't been possible, cd burners make the disc turn out considerably different to a copying press, have you noticed how when you burn a cd, you see where the laser has burnt it?

Any more questions? Dont ask them

    somebody kill this thread

Sorry but no. Memorex makes one that does play on the PS2 using CloneDVD. Now i know all the n00bies are gonna say "Stop lying" or "Why dont you just use that?" I could use it but the discs are VERY expensive so im looking for this free alternative.

Sigh, this isn't gonna be another one of those 'omg i can burn ps2 backups and play them w/ out a mod-chip' is it? What a waste of valuable internet-forum-reading-time. :(

Do you have a link to the media you are using? I have used Memorex many times and personally have found them to be no better than any others.

Riahc3 i don't have to be a mod to say topic closed. And i in no way meant that the "thread" is closed. The topic of "can i copy Swap Magic" is closed, it has been discussed a number of times and there is NO way to do it. And if you read my other posts i did say "no". So no i will not "shut my mouth". If your going to be vulgar about it then you can figure it out yourself, waste all the time and money trying to get it to work.

Oh and sly_61019 asked for a link for proof, i would also like to see this, since i've never heard of it.
