Not sure for smart ripper but for DVD2AVI it took an hour and TMPGEnc is gonna take 2 hours about a 1% a minute becuase at 25 minutes its at 22% and with 125 minutes reamining. So is that good?

Pretty good :) I just have P3/500 and it takes "slightly" longer ;-)

Although, if you think "ok, _NOW_ I have fast machine", go and purchase the server version of TMPGEnc when it ships and create SuperVCDs with 20-pass or more ;-)

TMPGEnc will have three versions in this spring -- the basic free version with 30 day MPEG-2 evaluation, standard version with possibility for higher MPEG-2 bitrates and no evaluation period for MPEG-2 and server version with support for more than 2 CPUs and upto 99-pass MPEG-2 VBR encoding.
